INFOOD is a fictional project created during the UX/UI course at Coderhouse. The concept explores an app that helps users cook using the ingredients they already have at home. Through research, competitor analysis, user flows, wireframes, testing and UI design, I developed an intuitive solution that provides personalized recipe suggestions, reduces waste and improves the everyday cooking experience.

CONTEXT

INFOOD was created to address a common frustration: wanting to cook with the ingredients you already have but struggling to find recipes that match what’s at home. The challenge was to design a solution that simplified decision-making and reduced the time users spend searching.

INFOOD was a fictional project created during my introductory UX/UI course at Coderhouse. Although the course was basic, it gave me my first structured understanding of user-centered design. This project introduced me to the foundations of research, user flows and early product thinking, and it was the moment I realized I wanted to go much deeper into this field.

CHALLENGES

The biggest challenge was learning UX/UI fundamentals while applying them in real time. Understanding user needs, organizing information clearly and creating flows that felt intuitive required trial, testing and iteration. Another challenge was balancing simplicity with utility, ensuring the app remained easy to use while still offering meaningful features. These experiences revealed how much thought goes into even the smallest interaction and strengthened my interest in the discipline.

SOLUTION

I designed an intuitive app where users can select the ingredients they currently have, apply filters and receive recipe suggestions tailored to their inventory. I combined competitor research, card sorting, user flows and wireframes to build a clear and friendly experience. Even as a beginner, this project taught me how to transform insights into a functional product and how visual decisions support usability.

OUTCOME

INFOOD became a foundational step in my UX/UI journey. Beyond completing a fictional app, the process gave me a deeper appreciation for digital product design and the impact of thoughtful user experience. It also confirmed my desire to specialize further. after this project, I decided to pursue a Master’s degree to continue growing in UX/UI and expand my skills in product design.
